NTextCat together with LinqPad?

Jul 25, 2011 at 8:19 AM

I have a situation where I'd like to check a field/column in a database and find out what language it is.

It would be cool if I could use your tool in LinqPad in order to make database queries with NTextCat functions.

Any ideas? I've added your dlls as "Additional references" but it seems like I can't call them.. Any special namespace I should use?

Thank you!

Hi Martin,

Yes, it is possible to use NTextCat with LinqPad (v4.x, based on .Net 4.0), however it wasn't that easy to figure out how for regular user.
To make easy things be easy, I have added new class, LanguageIdentifier which is single point for user to identify language.
It is available in new release, 0.1.4.

Please download sample LinqPad document.
Screenshot and description can be found here: Using NTextCat in LinqPad.

If you need to perform a lot of identifications which take too long, performance wise would be to use this snippet (reuse models, do not load it each time).
Thank you for using NTextCat!
Have a nice day.
